Here it is, folks. The Suzuki SX4 sedan caught in the wild completely uncovered, probably during the shooting of a commercial or something. The front end retains the five-door Suzuki SX4's sporty face but looks less rugged than its baby SUV brother.

The car retains the Suzuki SX4's quirky quarter window ahead of the A-pillar, but the rest of the car looks all new. The sedan's profile looks similar to that of the first generation Prius due to its rather short rear deck lid. The wheels are sporty looking five-spoke alloys and fill the wells quite nicely. No word on whether the Suzuki SX4 sedan will also get Suzuki's intelligent all-wheel drive as standard equipment, optional hardware or not at all.

On the bright side however, Suzuki SX4's utility vehicles like Suzuki SX4 Gypsy and Grand Vitara, received a positive response from the market. Company sales for these vehicles have increased by 54.9%, as reports show sales of 412 utility vehicles in September this year, as against 266 vehicles at the same time last year.

But the sales of Suzuki SX4 vans have again decremented in September, bringing the figures back to square one. The September 2011 sales of vans like Suzuki SX4 Omni and Eeco have decreased to 11,737 vehicles as against 13,822 vehicles sales last year

Suzuki SX4 officials have been trying their best to resolve the deepening rift between the management and workers. India's largest car manufacturer is aiming to put its vehicle production in top gear in order to meet consumer demand this festive season.

Suzuki SX4 has resumed the production of two of its cars. The company today said that production of the Maruti Suzuki SX4 mid-sized sedan and the A-Star hatchback has been resumed at the troubled Manesar unit. The production of the cars was halted on August 29th after the recent wave agitation at the manufacturing and assembly unit in Haryana state.

The Suzuki SX4 trouble began after the management asked 950 workers to sign a “bond of good conduct” after the workforce was supposedly involved in sabotage at the company a few days back. The Suzuki SX4 management has already suspended 21 employees which has again fuelled the anger of the employees. The car makers worries grew when the production of the newly launched Maruti Suzuki SX4 Swift was hampered by the protests.

Now the Suzuki SX4 is not new but the 2011 version has been tweaked and so I spent some 400km behind the wheel to try it out. The next new thing we have to get to grips with is the marketing speak. They call cars like the Suzuki SX4 a “crossover” vehicle. Now what’s a “crossover “ vehicle I hear you ask? Well if you believe all the sales hype it’s a car that does a bit of both worlds really. In the case of the Suzuki Suzuki SX4 they claim it is a mid sized family hatch that crosses over into being a small lifestyle 4x4 as it has switchable four wheel drive.

Once again the Suzuki SX4 acquits itself very well indeed. On the better roads it is refined and offers about average levels of road and engine noise. On less well-surfaced roads it soaks up the bumps and jolts with ease and feels solid and well put together. The handling is surefooted whether on wet or dry roads and in general I must say this is quite nice to drive. The four wheel drive is simplicity itself. Simply use the switch to select 2WD, Auto 4WD, or 4WD mode. This car Suzuki SX4 would be capable of mild off road work such as slippery fields, harbour slipways or the occasional rocky lane.

The wrap-around rear window is also unique, adding to the feeling of airiness in the cabin. With its higher roofline and four, wide-opening doors - that don't spring back on you when you try to get in or out - and four roof-mounted assist handles, the Suzuki SX4 is easy to enter or exit. The manually adjustable front bucket seats (with driver seat height lever) come with fold-down armrests for additional comfort and convenience.
