Toyota Supra

Toyota Supra
While the automaker officially denies a Toyota Supra replacement, sources told CAR Magazine that a project is indeed underway to create a Toyota Supra coupe featuring a small turbocharged engine and sell it by 2014.Well kids, you have been waiting years to hear about an all new Toyota Supra – the coupe that’s been butchered by suburban white kids world wide.

Toyota Supra According to Autoblog: While details are still limited, several sources are suggesting the rear-wheel drive sports car will be offered with a 3.5-liter V6 and the Lexus GS450h’s 2GR-VSE 3.5-liter V6 which will be paired with the Toyota Supra ’s Crown hybrid system. While the current 3.5-liter V6 only produces 268 hp and 248 lb-ft or torque, the Crown’s hybrid system could enable the  Lexus’ V6 to produce more than 400 hp

The sleek Toyota Supra Turbo stands proud in a rapidly shrinking field of ultra high-performance sports cars. The twin specters of poor sales and restrictive smog laws have killed off some of its compatriots, and Toyota Supra too is suffering from environmental concerns.
Toyota Supra
Toyota Supra Things have gone back and forth regarding its availability over the last few years, but as of now, the turbocharged version is still available in 47 states. And being that it's still one of the fastest, best-handling cars on the road today, and as always, it requires thorough testing.
Toyota Supra
Both Toyota Supra and Toyota Supra Turbo are powered by a 3.0 liter inline six cylinder engine with dual overhead camshafts and electronic fuel injection. In normally aspirated form, it develops 225 horsepower with the help of new variable camshaft timing and uses the same system found on Toyota Supra the Lexus line. Turbo models use a pair of turbochargers to produce 320 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque but the variable valve timing is not found on Turbo models since that technologically advanced system is not needed.
Toyota Supra
Toyota Supra Its turbochargers work sequentially and progressively, so when the rpms are low but climbing, the first turbo is activated, which saves fuel and wear-and-tear on the mechanicals. As the rpms climb, the second turbo rolls in gradually until there is maximum boost and spectacular under-five-seconds acceleration to 60 mph. This neck-snapping power is mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or an optional electronically-controlled four-speed automatic.Toyota Supra is rediscovering its mojo. Yes, this concept is strikingly similar to the Japanese giant's forthcoming FT-86 II sports car but that's where the similarities end.
Toyota Supra
The Toyota Supra is a sports car/grand tourer that was produced by Toyota Supra Motor Company from 1979 to 2002. The styling of the Toyota Supra was derived from the Toyota Supra Celica, but it was both longer and wider.[4] Starting in mid-1986, the Toyota Supra became its own model and was no longer based on the Celica. In turn, Toyota Supra also stopped using the prefix Celica and began just calling the car Toyota Supra .[5] Due to the similarity and past of the Celica's name, it is frequently mistaken for the Toyota Supra, and vice versa.

The new logo was similar in size, with orange writing on a red background, but without the dragon design. That logo, in turn, was on Toyota Supra until 1991 when Toyota Supra switched to its current oval company logo. (the dragon logo was a Celica logo regardless of what color it was. It appeared on the first two generations of the Supra because they were officially Toyota Supra Celicas. The dragon logo was used for the Celica line until it too was discontinued.
Toyota Supra
We know that the Toyota Supra Sprinter Trueno (AE86) will be getting a spiritual successor in whatever vehicle comes out of the other end of the development of the FT-86 concept. However, although Toyota Supra fanatics have been howling for a replacement for the Toyota Supra for much longer, Toyota Supra hasn't openly committed to plans to revive its former halo car. That doesn't stop talented artists from taking their own cracks at designing the next Toyota Supra.
Toyota Supra
Toyota Supra The changes for the US version were different, but mostly cosmetic. The interior received a redesigned center console and a digital quartz clock. On the exterior were redesigned side view mirrors, 14x5½" aluminum wheels are now standard (the previous year had steel wheels with plastic wheel covers standard and the aluminum wheels were optional). Toyota Supra In addition body molded mudflaps became available. On the copper metallic and white cars the mudflaps were painted the body color while the mudflaps were left black on all other colors.

The new generation of the iconic sports car made between 1979 and 2002, the Toyota Supra , is almost is almost here, and the Japanese automaker Toyota may have leaked an image of it, that show high resemblance to the competition’s “Z” series at Toyota Supra is reportedly working on an ultra-secret project aimed at resurrecting the Toyota Supra in an effort to add some much-needed spice to its product portfolio.
Toyota Supra
Instead, it's an artist's rendering of how a Toyota Supra would look if it arrived in showrooms today. Rumours have been rife for years that Toyota Supra will resurrect the Supra nameplate to rival s giant-killing Toyota Supra . Many hailed the Toyota Supra 's comeback a few years ago but it was the ultra-exclusive Lexus LFA instead.
Toyota Supra
Fougner's Toyota Supra is remarkably faithful to its spiritual predecessor, particularly with the muscular rear pillars and high waistline that give the impression of a powerful, rear-wheel-drive sports car. Its looks are arguably more upmarket than the FT-86's fussiness and, importantly, less boy racer than the old Supra.
Toyota Supra
Toyota Supra Fougner hasn't bothered with what might lurk under the Toyota Supra 's bonnet. But we can hope for an inline six-cylinder with twin turbochargers in the spirit of its predecessor. Enthusiasts will have the production version of the FT-86 from mid-2012.
